Dr. Bill Getchell was born in 1965 and received his undergraduate Bachelor of Sciences degree from Stanford University. He received an M.D. from the University of California in San Diego, and a Master's degree in Public Health from the Oregon Health Sciences University. Post graduate training in internal medicine was completed at the University of California San Francisco. Subsequently, Dr. Getchell completed his Cardiology Fellowship at Oregon Health Sciences University and also completed an NRSA Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Health Services Research while in Portland. After completing his training, he was on the faculty at the Portland Veterans Administration Hospital, as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr. Getchell's practice includes a full range of clinical cardiology skills, including stress echocardiography, treadmill testing, echocardiography, invasive cardiology and nuclear cardiology. Dr. Getchell joined Eastside Cardiology in July 2000.

I believe that my job is also to help patients and their families navigate the increasingly complicated cardiac health care system."
